“Staff friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast but good for price and use of microwave and hot drinks available all day. Comfortable beds and lovely en-suites. Free platypus guided tour is a bonus on some evenings. We saw one every time we walked along the nearby river.”

“Lovely old building with modernised facilities. Loved the bed - not too firm but just right, so you're not sinking in like in so many hotel beds. I was here on Boxing day, tired and sweaty after walking in the mountains for a few days. I wandered in at 11am to ask when check in-was - they handed me the keys before I had the chance to ask! I was so pleased to have a long shower before popping downstairs to their restaurant for a nice lunch. Friendly, meticulously clean, huge shower head... Zero complaints. I'll be back.”

“Tahara cottages are a unique and special place to stay. The cottages have everything one needs with plenty of space to relax. The host is most helpful and pleasant with a font of knowledge about the history of his estate and the area. Very peaceful and quiet with large gardens to explore. Highly recommend. ”
