“We would say the location and the environs are worth staying at this hotel if you can pay it. Termas de Puyehue is not what it used to be, i.e. in its golden past one could have delicious high tea (onces as they call it in Chile) in a tranquil atmosphere. If you ask for high tea now they just send you to the bar where they play loud banging inappropiate music which defeats the purpose of visiting a place like this to destress, more so when in some corridors and common areas they do play lovely classic music, which is most appreciated. There is no room service for breakfast anymore, so no more barros luco and scramble eggs in your room, and the pool has some faulty water jets and missing a few more, that otherwise would make for a better spa experience. No more horse riding, that’s also gone. The temperature in the covered pool was surprisingly low for a hot spring also. Adult-only time at the pool is a narrow 1:30 hours at the end of the day, when sadly the pool’s cafe is closed. Some facilities like sauna are far from the pool so one cannot switch back and forth between the pool and other treatments quickly. Mud baths are sadly no longer offered. All in all is a positive experience however it does seem that the new, younger generation of owners have lost sight of the origins and identity of this gorgeous hotel and made a rather awkward mix of peaceful hot spring Patagonian hotel with a Las Vegas style experience; it even has a bowling now! ”
