“1. Have good view of Happone valley 2. Better to self drive as this is a little out of the main street, parking is good and free 3. Room is adequte, just that the ameneties may be a little dated, no choice I guess given the age and budget 4. Onsite onsen is good though, and hardly anyone aound at 8~9 pm when I visit”

“Our group of 4 stayed here for our snow trip to Hakuba Iwatake snow park resort. The facilities are a bit older, but we enjoyed staying in a traditional ryokan room with tatami mats and futon beds. We also appreciated that our room had its own private bath. Half of our group preferred to bathe using our private bath, while the other half were open to using the onsen public bath located on the 1F of the facility. The 7:30 AM breakfast service was a yummy Japanese style breakfast, and perfect for getting us started for our snowboarding that day. The public bath was a bit older facility but still well-kept and clean. We appreciated that the public bath waters flowed directly from the areas natural hot springs. There unfortunately weren’t many restaurants in the area, but the 7-Eleven Hakuba Iwatate was located within a 7-10 minute walk from the ryokan and provided us enough access to refrigerated and frozen foods for dinner. The ryokan provided a hot water kettle in our rooms and microwave access in the 2F lobby. It was also super efficient that the Hakuba Iwatake shuttle ran morning and late-afternoon service from the Iwatake Shinden bus stop, just 20 meters (4 minute walk) from our ryokan entrance. ”

“I’m happy with my stay here overall, all the expected essentials and amenities are available, the place is clean and tidy. I really appreciate the hard work of Nori san to maintain the place to let guests stay as comfortable as possible. Most guests are considerate and polite and don’t make a mess. I had a great time chatting with some other guests. Only bad thing is one of the guests (an old asian guy) always making unnecessary noise having mobile phone playing loud videos all the time even when he is not present at the room sometimes and just leave the phone there playing, although it’s in common room only, so it doesnt affect our rooms on second floor, but i think he is not considerate, and his presence just make me wanna finish using the kitchen and my meal quickly and leave the space One of the nights, he even almost burn the kitchen down, as he has microwave some food for too long and sooooo much smoke burst out and set off the smoke detector alarm and whole house was filled with bad smokes and smell for whole night, we opened all windows and door to clear that, but his behaviour just annoyed me so much There’s nothing to do if other guests are annoying or disturbing, not the fault of the host It would have been a perfect stay without the bad guest”
