“The hotel: Village Hideaway is located at the prime spot on Fullhadhoo, within less than 50m walk from your room to bikini beach (beach that allows for tourists to wear bathers). The location is absolutely the best available on the island. The rooms are actually more spacious and much better than they look in the pictures, and it’s super clean, you also get twice daily cleaning - nearly unheard of on local islands. The hotel grounds are extremely well maintained, the staff tirelessly sweep and plug and tidy every inch of the hotel, keeping it impeccably presentable and comfortable for their guests. Now, the staff, from the proprietor - the well traveled Mr Hardy, to his entire team, they couldn’t be more friendly, welcoming and accommodating than I could have wished for. They make sure your every need is met and you’re well looked after from sunrise to sunset. The food at the restaurant is one of the best on the island. Beautiful Indian and Indonesian flavours, as well as offering authentic Maldivian options. I only wish I sampled more of that. The island: most people select guest houses based on the island. If you’re considering Fullhadhoo, you shouldn’t look further. It’s an absolute gem of a place. It is secluded, nearly untouched, and the reef is probably the best in the Maldives. With a short excursion, you’ll discover turtles, manta rays (resident mantas that live there year round), dolphins, and an abundance of fish and other sea creatures within walking distance of snorkelling. I’ve had an unforgettable experience at Fullhadhoo and staying at Village hideaway. You won’t be disappointed if you go there. Only problem is you may never want to leave and you may become one of the many annual returnees. ”
