“room was outdated, but that wasnt the issue. Deranged individual walked thru hotel and lobby claiming someone stole his bike. They he met more like him outside.. Women at counter told me homeless living under bridge. 10 pm that night police cruisers arrive east end of parking lot..lights on .. then a dog officer shows up and for 2 hrs they comb the bush and area just east of hotel”

“Its a pretty run down hotel. room was alright besides the stains on the ceiling. bathroom was pretty awful. sink was loose in the vanity, sink was impossible to turn on with one hand. shower was pretty gross. behind the toilet bowl was moldy. staff was excellent though”

“Absolutely wonderful experience for our girls weekend! We took a girls weekend here, and the spa, the restaurant, and the staff were fantastic! The only feedback is to put a carbon filter in the elevator because of the smell from the downstairs.”

“Price was high for an average hotel. Couldn’t check in until 5 pm in one case. Air conditioning didn’t work in one room. They tried to fix it, couldn’t and did nothing to accommodate afterwards except provide a limited food voucher on checkout after arguing. The restaurant was great.”

“We stayehere for ski trips to Baker with our daughters. Works great, has breakfast, seems pretty quiet so you can get some rest. The staff are super helpful, and the parking lot seems safe. I recommend the Bay City Motor Inn. ”

“We decided on a stay in Bellingham, as we hadn't visited in more than 3 years. Our adult children had just stayed at Hotel Leo and recommended it, and we certainly enjoyed the location and our upgraded room, although we encountered a few difficulties. First of all, the noise from passing trains can be quite disrupting, especially when they blow their horns loudly and often - both nights we stayed, train whistles woke us up at 1:15am and 2:30am. This isn't the fault of the hotel in any way, it's just a heads-up. Our second difficulty was not being able to get our room heater to work, and it was very cold in our room. They did send a repair person who fixed it while we were away for the day, but that person left our room door ajar - who knows for how long! The hotel itself is quirky - a mix of old and new decor, and rather spartan rooms. The bed was very comfortable, although the fitted bottom sheet did not fit properly and at one point I woke up lying directly on the mattress. We had a studio room, which had a distant view of the bay and featured a small fridge, microwave, coffee and French Press coffee maker and a bar sink. There was plenty of storage room for our suitcases, but no drawers. Given the location it was very quiet at night (except of course the trains), and the included-parking was a plus. The Hotel is located within walking distance of many restaurants, breweries and a couple of distilleries. The service was generally welcoming and friendly, although there wasn't much of an apology offered for our door being left ajar. There is a library, pool table and theatre room, and we would have liked to visit the hotel bar - Amendment 22, which offered some excellent happy hour pricing - but it was closed the two nights we were there. We felt the studio room rate was a bit high, but would return for the location and the hotel's ambiance.”
