“We’d like to try this hotel for a long time. Once we found a good rate, we went for it. The location is excellent, close to eatery places and shopping. Parking: Your best bet is to pay $20 per night with your hotel stay. The garage reset at midnight, meaning you will be charged double maximum rate for 24 hours for not parking with the hotel. Room: We got a corner room which was exciting. However the view was bad. Bathroom is super tiny. Furnitures need a refresh. AC is at 72 degrees max and the air is either hot or warm. No complimentary water as mentioned at checkin. The furniture layout could have been done better. The best item in the room was a small fridge. Staff: Overall they are ok and look like they are unhappy or indifference being at work. No smile. I asked staff once for a checkout and was told at 11 am. Make sure you check yourself for all information. At checkout, I informed staff about AC and no water. Staff only made a note. No sympathy. But Staff at the hotel garage was very friendly & helpful. Overall it’s an average to below average stay. We thought that maybe we got the price we paid for. If you are looking for a place to crash for a night within a center of attractions, this hotel is a good choice. ”

“The hotel was everything I wanted. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. The staff and service were great. The location was near King Street so a quieter spot and, a rooftop bar ! ”

“We stayed there for 2 nights, chose it because of the location knowing it's an old establishment. About an hour after checking into the room, we got 2 complaints about my kids running heavily in the room. I know my kids were not jumping or over-excited, it's because the hotel floor/walls too thin. Then at happy hour, the lady working behind the bar had a quite unpleasant attitude towards most of the guests, as well as her male colleague. My husband and I were hesitant to ask for drinks for my kids, which made our experience a bad one. The front desk team was helpful, but the hotel was so old all the furniture made squeaky sound. I would not recommend it to anyone I know who's going to Charleston.”

“Our stay at the Iris was amazing! Customer service was top notch. Savannah was very helpful especially with parking assistance. Great amenities! Loved the Dyson hairdryer & Modio sound machine. Such a nice touch! Property is very quiet which provided for a great nights sleep. It’s also very clean & safe. The interior of the apartments are designed & decorated really beautifully. Beds are super comfy. Close to great restaurants with downtown just a short distance away. I could go on & on! Highly recommend the Iris. ”

“Really good value for what it offers. Simple, clean, with helpful staff. It is about a 7-8 minute drive or Uber ride from most attractions, which is still walkable (slightly over half an hour). ”

“we were looking for a quiet location close to downtown and this was perfect. Carta bus stop was right around the corner and that was very convenient if you don't want to drive downtonw, that takes you straight to king street. Staff was friendly and very helpful and room were clean and cozy.”
