“I wanted to love this place so badly that I overlooked countless problems giving every benefit of the doubt throughout our 3 night stay. It started out lovely, with the host opening a bottle of champagne to welcome us to The Chateau at Lake La Quinta. Sadly that was the best part of the place. The introduction. From the beauty of the place upon arriving to that glass of cold champagne. Everything from that point was a complete let down. Our room door was propped open to the outside (literally outside with the bugs and dust and any stranger who wanted to come into our room) and when we mentioned it to the lady at the desk she made light of it like it's normal for the cleaners to leave the doors open like that. It’s important to note here that we are two women, mother and daughter, arriving at night and it was extremely unsettling needing to check throughout our room before settling in. We had noticed at this time our neighboring room had ordered room service at some point that day and left their tray of plates by their door.. they were still sitting there the following evening. Our room was cute at first glance but upon closer inspection it appeared the cleaners had only done the essentials for the past year (bed, towels, sink and shower). I’m talking thick layers of white dust coating EVERYTHING. Cobwebs on the top of our bed, lights, TV, chair, etc. I took photos I was so disgusted. There was urine in front of the toilet you could only see from certain angles but.. c’mon. Shouldn’t the bathroom floor be a given every time? The TV remote had caked brown grime between the buttons that made me gag. I had to clean it myself before I even considered using it. The TV was damaged with 2 white blobs on the right side of the screen. We'd try to ignore it but swear it would pulse and you couldn't help but see it again.
