Royal Bakoena Hamiltonparks Country Lodge

The location is amazing. The views of the mountains are beautiful. The food, fresh made breakfast included and supper for a small fee if you order by 1:00 p.m. you set the time. The surroundings are so serene and quiet. Like you are in the middle of the jungle. Sure the grounds could use some TLC (broken tiles making it dangerous to walk) but the history and "boutiqueness" makes it one of a kind. And service? We were late checking so missed cut off to order dinner. King was able to have them make an exception. Delicious steak dinner (meat was a little tough but the rub on it was out of this world). Delicious veggies, squash and wedge potatoes with a great coating and texture. We found out our dinner was going to be late because the person bringing the stakes had a flat tire and was repairing it roadside. They could not apologize enough and we kept telling them no worries. No where to go but to enjoy beer/wine and the atmosphere :) Also, upon arrival yesterday we spotted a 1960's Chevy (Biscane?) and were admiring it. Hubby wanted to take a picture but King said, not until it was washed. We said it looked fine but King insisted it would get washed. This morning on our way to breakfast one of the staff was lovingly washing it by hand. He loved the car too but said it was the owner's baby. They could not drive it. Then he pointed to a new BMW SUV and said the owner would let him drive that one before he would ever be allowed to drive the Chevy. Lol.
