Casa Estela Boutique Hotel & Cafe

Casa Estela is one of the newer establishments in Calapan City. They have a cafe restaurants downstairs which is popular amongst local politicians and business people. The cafe serves a relatively great mix of Filipino and western dishes. Cafe Estela is located within a residential area and is tucked away, so it is relatively quiet. It is very close to CitiMall where you can access various shops and boutiques. There is limited parking in their garden area, and can only accomodate approx. 5 vehicles. The parking area can get quite busy during lunch and dinner hours. I had to park my vehicle on the side street once when I had to check in. The reception desk is not manned well, and I had to call out staff a couple of times to check in. They were very friendly and accomodating though and offer you a local welcome drink (I had the sago gulaman). The property itself has no lifts so its not accessible for disabled guests and senior guests may struggle, but there are helpers available to help carry your bags to your room. They typically take your breakfast order the day before and also offer a good mix of Filipino and continental breakfast. The room is very clean and the internet was surprisingly superfast. I had approx. 100MB connection which is quite impressive for Calapan. There was a power outage once during my stay but the hotel had a generator and the power went back up after a few seconds. This was important as the room can quickly get scorching hot without the A/C on. The bed and duvet were supercomfy and I slept really well. I had to wait for staff again during checkout, but they were accomodating as I had to checkout at 6am. They offered to pack my breakfast instead which was a nice touch. Overall this is a great place to stay in Calapan and dare I say the most comfortable. It can easily rival The Filipiniana although Cafe Estela are significantly smaller.
