치앙다오의 프라이빗 하우스 (100m², 침실 3개, 프라이빗 욕실 2개)

We were expecting a high-end home because of the price. While the home and property are nice, some of the furnishings (especially in the second building) are extremely minimal, cheap junk. The house is littered with signage telling you how much you will pay if you break something, giant signs to not dirty the stove, to not dirty the microwave, signs to watch your children etc. All things you might expect and accept at a cheap rental, but not at a high-end home. It feels like the owners never lived here and just turned the place over to a caretaker to finish furnishing and renting for as high a price as they can get. The house feels sterile, unfriendly and minimal in so many ways. I doubt the owner has ever lived here. The property is NOT private. When we were here, you could readily hear the caretakers on the other side of the bushes next to the pool, see the other rental unit next door, and we had road workers literally camping out on the other side of the pond & fence- as you look out at the beautiful property, you can watch the workers bathing nightly in the ditch. I understand this was a unique situation, but it demonstrates how UN-private this property can be. There is a main house with single bedroom, then you go outside across a covered walk-way to find a second building with a bathroom and two bedrooms. This building has no main door, so expect bugs during warm season. There is really no way to keep them out. The grounds are very pretty. Very nice landscaping (but then old plastic chairs and stools outside for seating, no lounge chairs, no comfy outdoor furniture), the caretakers thoughtfully left flowers and oil incense in each room (so they are trying!) Overall it feels like an odd mish-mash of things setup by someone who has no budget. Overall, we found it awkward staying here and would not return.
