Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows - All Inclusive

We tried to have a very ‘relaxing’ vacation this time and decided to try out an all inclusive hotel. This place was within our price range and went for it. So unfortunately, I don’t have anu other all inclusive hotels I can compare it with, but here goes: This is definitely a more affordable side when it comes to all inclusive hotel. Food, facilities, everything is at that level and wouldn’t exactly call it a 4 star hotel-level. The place might be worn down but I didn’t really notice much of it. Things are kept tidy and clean, pools are very well maintained, staffs are very welcoming and nice. We did notice, however, when other rooms used their showers because our water pressure in the shower would be so low it was almost impossible to use the shower. There are 7 or 8 types of cocktails to choose from, but the taste did vary based on which staff made it. There are different themes for dinner each night, and it was only breakfast that had same dishes. So different dishes every night, but the quality of the dishes were not 4 star hotel-level. After the second day, all the dishes tasted mostly the same and definitely felt like bland buffet food (I am a bit more picky on these things). The whole place is definitely more oriented towards french tourists. All the activities are run in french, although most speak english when spoken to. We didn’t partake in any activities, but did feel a bit out of place amongst all those french speakers. If you’re looking for a place close to the city with loud pubs, activities and other young people, this place is not for you (unless you are willing to take taxis every night). You can get drinks from the bars until midnight and they have different activities each night as well (mostly dancing and live music), but most of them are old french couples so it might feel like you’re hanging out with your parents/grandparents with mediocre tasting cocktails. I got very bored of the place from lack of things to do (I’m not really a lying on the beach all day long person), and of the food after 2 days. We ended up eating our dinner at restaurants outside the hotel for more ‘authentic’ greek food experience. All in all, I think the place is not bad at all if you just want to not think about what to eat/do/drink and relax for an ok-price away from Athens.
