The Morgan Resort Spa & Village

Upon arriving at the hotel and checking in, we were given all the info including that we get 2 bottles of water in the room and then you have to pay for them. This is while the other arriving guests are getting a complimentary arrival drink. My thought was they were together on a special excursion and didn't think more of it. Then as the days passed I realized everyone but us got them. The room was small but very clean and updated. Then I looked outside and it was the front balcony. Wish I could post a pic here. It was awful. What we could see past the 15 foot awning was parking lots and trash. To be fair I booked 2 weeks prior. I had the choice of a cheap room or the penthouse. Can't afford the penthouse, cheap room it was. I did ask at the desk if we could switch and I would pay for an upgrade. They were sold out. The disappointment continued as the room wasn't cleaned the second day . The 3rd day we put the light on to have the room straightened at 7:30am. They came at 5:30pm when we dressing to go out for dinner. They handed us towels.... Most staff was friendly but I found a few at the desk rude. I swear on my life that we were not unkind or rude to anyone there. They just made sure to let us know we were second class citizens at their hotel. I would definitely go back to Sint Maarten as it is beautiful, weather is great, people are friendly and respectful but not The Morgan. Highly recommend Mr. Papaya's outside the hotel for smoothies and crepes. We went out as much as possible as I didn't want to give the hotel one dollar more of my money.
