“ Fabulous stay , we had a lovely large room , breakfast is amazing. The Restaurant is on the expensive side but nice food , hot plates which I like to keep the food warm . Can’t wait to stay again for the 3rd time . The staff are very friendly thank you ”

“Booked birthday treat and while reception and downstairs was nicely decorated and carpeted this did not repeat in our junior suite- tired carpet and marked walls with broken blinds covering windows - cud not be rolled back up - nice and good quality curtains covering shabby windows and doors to balconies which have not been cleaned in some time - the balconies- one door had a hole at the bottom corner and there was a slight gap at the bottom corner meaning door not properly closed the hole was rotten wood the other door to small balcony had putty round the window broken and had a piece of white thin ply keeping this in place - bathroom good size with separate shower however the water flow through shower head very poor - shower head needs good clean also the ceiling above shower needs re painting and mold bits cleaning - also broken or missing fixing on wall to hang dressing gown or towel and blocked off window area needs mold treating cleaning - bed ok king size and reasonably comfortable - bed settee reasonable but only used as chair space- restaurant needs better front of house and chefs - wait time far too long re evening meal and we cancelled pudding due to wait time - critic of menu when advertising sour dough bread then this is what is expected not just a cheap part cooked bread roll - food ok nothing to write home about - breakfast on Saturday was good and ran smoothly however not the same on Sunday when they ran out of lots of different foods and these were not replenished in a timely manner - many guests inc ourselves having to wait for all aspects of breakfast- would I go again - No - when it stated 4 star I was expecting much better - however the spa has reasonable facilities but not enough space for sufficient loungers ”

“All good, beds comfy as. Room temp fine, the only issue was poor WiFi. Decent parking underneath hotel. ”

“Lovely hotel in the centre of Chester . Room had everything you'd need. The bed was comfy and the staff were all nice. We ate in the pub restaurant which was great too. The only downside was the noise at night ie. from people in the pub both inside and out, from fellow guests going past the room and from the noisy fridge. If you are willing to take earbuds which we did as we'd read about the noise then this shouldn't be too much of a problem. ”

“The spa was run down and looked like a 80’s community leisure Centre. Of the three beds available two were broke. With holes in them. The pool was small and I’m guaranteed to get a varruca in the morning. We didn’t manage to get in The jacuzzi as it was one in one out with a max capacity of four. The steam room wasn’t working and the sauna was that small to get three people in you had to give someone a lap dance . The lockers were about as secure an unlocked bike on a Liverpool high street. Although the staff were lovely and the treatment was good the waiting room had a conservative club 80’s decor. It was just missing a snooker table and people playing bingo. As for the hotel itself, again dated and tired. The halls made me reminisce of my grans house from being a boy. They smelt like death lingering around a corner. The rooms need all to be modernised. Starting with the plug sockets. Round pin sockets! Felt like we were in France. Radiators didn’t work so our only source of heat was to boil the kettle several times. Breakfast was ok , basic but ok . But the afternoon cream tea was a shambles. A microwaved halved mini scone from Tesco with a tub or cream and a service station jam ration. ”
