“Room and facilities looks new. The staffs here are young and nice. Breakfast is included and it provide a wide range high quaility traditional British choices. The pub is highly recommended because it provides its own product. The pub is spacious with comfortable chairs. Its also provide a game room with dart and snooker. I have a wonderful night here.”

“I really like this quirky B & B, they also deal in antiques so the whole place has hidden gems and quirky features everywhere you look. The couple that run Chalk and Cheese are really friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you enter the door. The breakfast provided is excellent and quality produce. As this is a dog friendly establishment they have two very friendly dogs who are also very attentive and will let you help yourself to free belly rubs whenever you like. I enjoyed my stay so much I returned the following week when working again in the area!”

“Stayed for one night BB. Also had an evening meal. We were in Room 9, which was spacious and had twin beds. Located at the far end of the outside area. Room was clean and en-suite large with nice size bath and shower. Staff pleasant overall. Check in and out smooth. Nice breakfast, with a good range to select from. Interesting and quirky decor throughout, which we liked. The only negative was the evening meal experience. Arrived about 10 minutes before our booked time (7.30) and although we were at the bar, staff served 3 others who arrived after us. Seemed focussed on sorting bills out. However not a major issue. Took to table and ordered food/drinks. 20 minutes later got small plate starter ( olives and two salami/ham plates). They were a bit bland and the chargrilled pepper on the meat was bitter). An hour later we got our main course. My wife liked her calf liver and my curry was OK. No explanation as to any delay and whilst staff were pleasant, they seemed to disappear. Table next to us returned their main meal. It might be a one of and as I say there may have been staffing issues, but as we weren’t told, we don’t know. This place is known for its food, ( although I found the menu a little limited for my tastes) so was really looking forward to the experience but was disappointed. Apart from that all other aspects of our stay here very good 4/5.”

“Competitively priced. Good rooms, nice outdoor area., very clean with the facilities you'd expect. Parking plentiful and well located for access to all major routes. Breakfast pretty basic but decent quality. Bar prices are a bit steep and on this, our second stay, we avoided eating our evening meal there - last time half of the menu items weren't available and what we did get served seemed to have come from Farmfoods via the microwave so chose to eat out.”
