“Almost everything was good, only disappointment was the dinner in restraunt area, the meal was tough and not a varied selection plus the price of meals in RESTAURANT area were very very expensive. No air con in bedroom ! And soundproofing in rooms is not pleasant because you can hear others in the corridors both during the day & night. Then again we were in the Older part of the hotel. When we stayed previously in the newer built on rooms, we had none of the above faults and that's including the food in the restraunt.. food in octagon and bar area was absolutely fine.. lovely hotel lovely area.. just feel overall standards were higher previously when we stayed. ”

“We spent the night in the bar good was lovely staff were nice. A more comfortable chair would have good. The bedroom was clean and good size although for 3 adults 3 single beds would have been much better...the double bed was not comfortable hard mattress. ”

“Hotel is well located for enjoying Athlone in the daytime - castle just over the river; and nightime - bars just down the road or over the water. One warning, hotel claims it has 'parking' however for something with 100+ rooms, ~15 parking spots is a joke.”

“Stayed with my husband for a night away, all the amenities downstairs are fabulous although the pool was a bit cold, the jacuzzi was amazing and well worth a visit, didn’t use any of the other facilities. The let down for us was the bedroom, walked into a very basic room, carpet had seen better days and there was no fridge to store my insulin in and no air conditioning, the window only opened about 6 inches so the room was very hot, there was a small desk fan and I literally had to stand in front of it to cool down. On the plus side the bed was comfy and the breakfast was amazing with plenty to choose from , a lovely hotel just out side the hustle amd bustle of the town, just a few updates needed in the bedroom ”
