“I’ve actually never had to give a review with negative feedback, until this stay. Our Safari started from Mount Meru Hotel. The staff at front desk were friendly & fixed everything that went wrong! The room needed an upgrade, safe didn’t work, found dirty bath towel hanging in closet, but again staff were amazing. Ali immediately came & fixed safe & was friendly, bright, & enjoyed talking with him, the housekeeper was there in a second, apologized, gave extra towels & was obviously very busy & hard working, again friendly & professional encounter, meeting every request! Went to relax at pool, but there were kids ( not staying at hotel, I was told, people can pay to use pool for day ) running all around the pool, yelling, playing, running by guests while having water fights using plastic cups, that ended up splashed on me and there was no redirection by staff! Kids will be kids, but I expected staff to at least say “play in your area”,. Experiencing a Stay in a different hotel around the corner to compare with Mount Meru & even though staff turned my experience around, I wouldn’t stay here again!”

“We stayed in Gran Melia to conclude our safari trip and it was truly exceptional. Wonderful and beautiful place, exceptional amenities, breakfast was perfect. I loved the coffee plantation and the Sanaa shop/craft workshops. If you stop in Arusha do stay at least one night in Gran Melia!”
