“My teenage daughter and I stayed here because of the proximity to the Billy Jean King Tennis Center where the Westminster Dog Show was being held. While the area surrounding the hotel is a little sketchy, we never felt unsafe. One night I walked to get Chinese a short distance away and kept my eyes open but wasn't bothered by anyone. The tennis center is an easy 10 minute walk away along a wide path and good sidewalks, so I definitely recommend it if you need close access to the tennis center and don't have a car. The hotel itself is older and dated, but its very clean. You can tell they try hard to keep tidy and every day we saw multiple cleaning crew wiping things down, cleaning windows, making up rooms, etc. The bed was very comfortable, actually better than many more expensive hotels I've stayed in, the pillows were nice and the window AC worked great and was very cold. Make sure you ask for a room in the back so you aren't right next to the rail tracks. We could barely hear when a train passed, but I would not have wanted to be on the other side because I suspect it would have been very loud when a train passed. Check in and out was a breeze. I feel like it was a little pricey for the area it was in, but there weren't many other hotels that close and the convenience to the Tennis Center and dog show made it worth it to me so we didn't have to constantly have to shuttle back and forth. ”
