“2nd time in just over 2 weeks staying there one night on business in area. Very reasonable pricing compared to other hotels in area. Good breakfast available at 6am which I need as I'm out the door to work b4 630Am. Rear door to hotel is missing its key pad lock and was left unlocked all night. I noticed another comment on this or another site bringing up the same issue a month or more ago. Ownership needs to ASAP do some temporary fix on that (latch and padlock from 7PM to 6AM???) until Keypad lock is replaced. It's door into rear section of the 1st fllor. 'd stay there again but not in that section of the hotel. Otherwise a quiet , convenient location. Reasonably clean and comfortable.”

“We have stayed here over 20 times and each time it’s the same 5 stars They added a bar to the lobby and it’s relaxing and private The staff has been the same wonderful group of people for the pass 5years I been booking here and the rooms are always inviting ”

“The Sonesta is my favorite hotel in Newark. All the staff is super friendly and it’s super clean and they give you a lot of towels and they’re so nice and friendly throughout the whole process and they make pancake machine always works and makes pancakes fast. That’s good.”

“I'll start by saying I got a good deal on an apartment-like room here, and the front desk staff were nice... when they were finally able to help me. However, checking in took just about half an hour (when I was already sleep deprived and trying to get some rest!) because the hotel only staffed the front desk with one person on a Saturday afternoon. Ridiculous. Surely a hotel that wants to provide decent service will have enough staff on shift for the busiest time of the week? I'll also note that the hair dryer was broken, clearly an upkeep issue (and upkeep issues can be avoided with--wait for it--enough staff!). If the hotel doesn't want to make guests feel like they're merely cash cows, the number one thing to do is provide decent service. The location feels a touch remote though there are conveniece stores and an American Chinese restaurant with friendly owners in walking distance.”

“The person at the front desk is terrible. He had not smile, not much words, very little interaction, no eye contact and did not ask for ID. Because of him I would not return. I work in the area and need a place for the next 4 months, but this place isn't it.”
